Rootkit first gained widespread recognition with his debut single, “Do It”, released in 2014 on Monstercat, where his fresh fusion of drumstep and electronic elements captivated listeners and quickly built a loyal following.

Notable early releases like “Real Love” (2014), “Against The Sun” (2015), and “Carry Me Away” (2015) solidified his reputation as an innovative artist with a dynamic, evolving sound. His unique style soon caught the attention of major industry figures, including The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, Tchami, and San Holo, leading to releases on labels such as Heldeep Records, Confession, and bitbird.

In collaboration with bitbird, Rootkit expanded his range further, releasing tracks like “Dreaming” (2019) featuring Cammie Robinson and “Only Knew” (2018) featuring Nevve. His 2020 debut album, Recursion, showcased his ability to explore diverse sounds, with tracks like “Be With You” featuring Gloria Kim blending elements of house and other genres. The album was well-received and highlighted Rootkit’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries.

Rootkit’s music has reached audiences beyond the music world, with placements in popular media and gaming.
